What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?
GEO is the practice of optimizing your brand's presence in AI-generated answers from engines like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. Unlike SEO which optimizes for search rankings, GEO optimizes for being mentioned, cited, and recommended first in AI responses. It's a new discipline that requires different strategies: structured data, original research, FAQ schemas, comparison pages, and E-E-A-T signals that AI models use to select which brands to recommend.
How is this different from an SEO audit?
An SEO audit measures backlinks, keyword rankings, and page authority in traditional search engines. A GEO audit measures completely different metrics: how often AI engines mention your brand (mention rate), whether they cite your website as a source (citation rate), what position you appear in AI-generated recommendation lists, and what sentiment AI uses when describing you. These are fundamentally different signals. A brand can rank #1 on Google but be completely absent from ChatGPT's recommendations.
What AI engines do you audit?
We run 80+ real buyer prompts across ChatGPT (GPT-4o with web search) and Claude (Sonnet with web search). Both engines use live web data, meaning they pull current information rather than relying solely on training data. This gives you a real-time picture of how AI sees your brand today, not six months ago.
What is a citation gap?
A citation gap occurs when AI mentions your brand in its response but cites a competitor's website or a third-party source (like G2, Gartner, or Reddit) instead of your own domain. This means AI knows you exist but doesn't trust your website enough to link to it. The average citation gap we see is 25-40 percentage points. Closing this gap — by improving your content's authority signals — is typically the highest-ROI GEO action.
How long does it take to get results?
48 hours from payment. You receive a private link to an interactive dashboard with five views: visibility metrics, citation gap analysis, competitive positioning map, prioritized action plan, and full raw response data. No meetings, no onboarding calls — just the data.
What industries do you cover?
We run audits across all B2B and B2C verticals. We have specialized prompt sets for Customs & Trade, SaaS/Software, Legal Services, Healthcare, Financial Services, E-commerce, and Manufacturing. For each industry, we select prompts that match what real buyers in that sector actually ask AI engines.
Can I share the dashboard with my team?
Yes. Your dashboard is a private URL that you can share with your CMO, SEO team, agency partners, or anyone else. It's a fully interactive web application — not a PDF or slide deck. Every chart is live, every table is sortable, and all raw data is accessible.
Do you offer ongoing monitoring?
Not yet — we're launching a monthly monitoring tier at $297/month soon. For now, the one-time audit gives you a comprehensive baseline. Most brands run a follow-up audit 60-90 days after implementing the action plan to measure improvement.
Can results vary between AI engines?
Yes, and that's one of the most valuable parts of the audit. ChatGPT and Claude often recommend different brands for the same prompt because they weight sources differently. The audit separates results by engine so you can see exactly where each one ranks you — and tailor your strategy per platform.
Do you use real buyer prompts?
Yes. We don't use generic queries. For each industry, we build prompt sets based on what real buyers actually type into AI tools — comparison questions, "best X for Y" queries, alternative searches, and problem-specific queries. We select the right prompt set for your vertical when you submit your industry.
Can you guarantee improved AI visibility?
No. The audit identifies exactly what to fix and provides evidence-based recommendations, but AI engine behavior changes over time. What we can guarantee: you'll know precisely where you stand today, why AI prefers certain competitors, and which specific actions have the highest expected impact. Brands that implement P0 recommendations typically see measurable improvement within 60-90 days.
What happens after the audit?
You get your dashboard and action plan. From there, your team or agency implements the recommendations. If you need help with implementation, we offer an optional implementation planning session. Most clients re-audit after 60-90 days to measure progress and identify the next round of optimizations.
